EASTERN AIRWAYS

Humberside, UK

Regional airline in the UK, with a mix of domestic and international routes. Most routes had earlier been dropped by other carriers due to shallow results.

Eastern took them on and turned them into profitable routes.

Aberdeen and Newcastle are Eastern's most important bases.

A flip-side of successful entrepreneurship is that success tends to be copied.

As markets grow, they come back in the scope of larger airlines. Eastern's success created a new challenge: head-to-head competition on markets that it has grown.

Though the company generally is successful in maintaining its position, it had seen itself being forced to drop some routes as well.

Since this is an unsatisfactory situation, Schedule Consult was invited to support Eastern Airways in dealing with this challenge.
