  • Scandinavia routes
    Optimization of the Scandinavia route system:
    The recapturing of lost market share and trade-off between local market interests and transfer traffic.
    As a result of this project, results recovered and Sabena recaptured the competitive edge.
    Completed in 1994 
  • High speed train competition
    Study on consequences of competition by high-speed trains on Brussels-London routes.
    Development of network and scheduling strategy, as well as ground product to maximize the advantages of air travel.  Completed in 1996 
  • European strategy
    Assessment of the opportunities to exploit the fruits of European Liberalization.
    Involved elaborate City Presence Analysis, strategy development, network design and study of operational implications. Completed in 1998 
  • Ground time policy
    Analysis of the constellation of ground times, network profitability and the relationship with punctuality.
    Includes trade-off between fleet costs and benefits of punctuality.
    Resulted in an advice on the number of back-up aircraft, planning of maintenance slots and measures to improve punctuality. Completed in 1999

Aviation is a volatile industry. Sabena was among many carriers that did not survive. The collapse of parent Swissair left Sabena shareholders with no other alternative than to restart.
 
Yet, without hesitation we can state that our projects were significantly positive for the airline and we are proud to keep mentioning them in our track record.
